JAKARTA - Sensitivity to environmental issues is an important resource for young generations in the midst of increasing threats to the sustainability of Indonesia's natural and rare wildlife. This awareness not only needs to be understood, but also voiced so that it can encourage real change.

Through his illustration work, Caleb, a BINUS SCHOOL Simprug student, is an example of a young person who dares to invite the community to be more concerned about the environment, especially the protection of rare Indonesian wildlife.

As a tangible manifestation of this spirit, Caleb collaborated with BINA NUSANTARA to implement his illustrations into exclusive merchandise products that are already available at the BEEHIVE BINUS Store. This art exhibition with the theme of environmental life is the first project of the Creativerse program which is prepared to sustainably support the talented young talents of BINUS to showcase their work, hone the spirit of entrepreneurship while contributing positive impacts, both for the environment and the wider community.

This project started from Caleb's experience when he was in 5th grade and developed his first creative idea into a work that had a real impact. In a previous project, Caleb created a work themed on environmental concerns and marine ecosystems, the work was successfully realized into various products, with the sales proceeds donated to the NGO Divers Clean Action to support the planting of mangroves in the PIK area.

As it develops, Caleb's work is increasingly inspired by animal and environmental themes, especially protected animals typical of Indonesia. The series of animal series works were then developed into exclusive BINUS SCHOOL Simprug merchandise. One of his works is also the result of a drawing and coloring collaboration with the children of the Wahana Visi Indonesia Foundation.

In this project, the proceeds from the sale of merchandise will be donated to the Wahana Visi Indonesia Foundation to support the improvement of the quality of life of children and communities in need. This initiative was marked by the launch of the Caleb and BINA NUSANTARA collaboration product on Wednesday, January 21. On this occasion, Caleb's creative journey, the learning process he went through, and the importance of providing space for students to contribute through talent and interest from an early age were discussed.

Caleb expressed his pride that his illustration work could develop into a product that is beneficial to many people.

"I'm very happy because my picture can be made into a product and be useful for others. Through these pictures, I want to invite friends to be more concerned about animals and the environment, because small things we do can have a big impact if done together," said Caleb.

Meanwhile, Mr. Isaac explained that this initiative is in line with the Journeys Programme at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug, a learning approach that accompanies the students' growth and development holistically, by encouraging students to explore their potential, as well as implementing the learning process into real actions that have an impact.

"We want students not only to undergo the learning process in the classroom, but also to experience a meaningful learning journey through the BINUS SCHOOL Simprug Journeys Programme. Student works are not only the result of learning, but also have real value and benefits for the surrounding environment. Through this collaboration, we provide space for students to express their creativity while learning about empathy, critical thinking, and environmental awareness from an early age," said Isaac Koh, Head of BINUS SCHOOL Simprug.

Through this collaboration, BINUS SCHOOL Simprug confirms its commitment to creating a learning environment that supports creativity, social awareness, and shapes student characters that have a positive impact on society and the environment.
