Residents of Kebon Nanas are warned to demolish their houses on TPU land

JAKARTA - The Jatinegara District Police Pamong Praja Unit (Satpol PP) has issued a Second Warning Letter (SP-2) to residents of Kampung Ujung RT 015/02 who built a building on the land of the Kebon Nanas TPU, East Jakarta.

"The implementation of the monitoring of the provision of SP 2 is carried out for residents who are still occupying the Kebon Nanas TPU land," said the Head of the Jatinegara Sub-district Satpol PP, Teguh Nurdin Amal when confirmed in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Teguh said that the provision of SP 2 was done humanistically so that the situation remained safe and conducive.

"The situation of kamtibmas during the activity was observed to be safe, orderly, and under control," he said.

During the activity, Satpol PP recorded as many as 31 heads of households (KK) or buildings were given SP 2.

The details, 18 buildings are still occupied with the condition that some residents are repairing and dismantling the building independently, while 13 other buildings are empty and have SP 2 on the door of the house.

Teguh explained that, in general, conditions on the ground show that most residents have moved to apartment buildings or private contractors.

Residents who are still staying, said Teguh, are packing large-sized goods.

"The conditions on the ground are still stable because the packing of large goods is still being carried out and it is observed that some are dismantling the building themselves by utilizing goods that can still be sold," he said.

Satpol PP ensures that the enforcement activities are carried out persuasively and according to procedures. "We also continue to coordinate with related agencies to maintain public order in the Jatinegara District area," he said.

The activity took place on Tuesday (20/1) was led by the Head of Section (Kasi) of the Civil Servant (PPNS) and Law Enforcement (Gakkum) of the East Jakarta City Satpol PP.

The crackdown also involved elements of the city, sub-district, and village level Satpol PP, Bhabinkamtibmas, Babinsa, Handling of Public Infrastructure and Facilities (PPSU) and the Early Warning Forum for the Community (FKDM).

Previously, the East Jakarta City Government relocated 73 families (KK) who had been living in the Kebon Nanas Public Cemetery (TPU) to six apartment buildings (rusun), Monday (12/1).

The relocation is carried out gradually to a number of apartment buildings (rusun) that have been prepared by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov).

The six apartment houses are the Pulo Gebang Apartment which accommodates 46 households, the Cipinang Muara Apartment with five households.

Cipinang Besar Selatan Settlement has six KK, West Jatinegara Settlement has one KK, Jatinegara Kaum Settlement has nine KK and Pondok Bambu Settlement has six KK.
