JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Harun Al Rasyid said one of their fugitives, former PDI-P candidate Harun Masiku, was in Indonesia.

In fact, the anti-corruption commission investigators know the number plate and the type of car used by the alleged briber, former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.

"There is (detected in Indonesia, ed). We know the number plate person, who uses the car. How can you (you, ed) not believe that Harun is still alive," Harun told reporters, Sunday, May 30.

However, he did not specify the whereabouts of Harun Masiku. However, this investigator confirmed that the fugitive was still in Indonesia until Friday, May 28.

Harun also doesn't want to talk much about the technicalities of searching for the KPK fugitive because this cannot be shared with the public. "But the point is, Harun Masiku is there. That's all. Based on the results of our work, he is in Indonesia," he said.

Furthermore, Harun said he was able to find out the whereabouts of the former PDIP candidate after receiving an assignment from the KPK leadership. However, he admits that he can't do anything.

The reason is that many investigators in the search team have been asked to hand over tasks to their superiors. The investigator who joined the pursuit of Harun Masiku was senior investigator Ambarita Damanik.

This handover was carried out after the leadership's decision letter related to the results of the national insight test (TWK). So, he is not so sure Harun Masiku can be chased after the deactivation of dozens of KPK employees who did not pass the test.

"There is Pak Damanik too, yes, there are several other colleagues. I just think it will be difficult (the pursuit, ed)," he said.

For information, Harun Masiku was added to a wanted list by the KPK on January 17, 2020. However, until now the KPK and other law enforcement officers have not been able to find his whereabouts.

Harun is a suspect in the part-time bribery (PAW) case for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period. He carries that status along with three other suspects, namely former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan, former Bawaslu member Agustiani Tio Fridelia and the private sector Saeful.

As previously reported, the KPK has held a coordination meeting to discuss the fate of 75 employees who failed the National Insight Test (TWK) and were disabled. In addition to the KPK and the State Civil Service Agency (BKN), this meeting was also attended by the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly and the MenPANRB Tjahjo Kumolo.

Meanwhile, 24 out of 75 employees may still be trained. However, they can also be fired if they do not pass the national education and national defense training.

The National Insight Test (TWK) was attended by 1,351 KPK employees. Of these, 1,274 people were declared eligible.

Meanwhile, 75 employees, including Novel Baswedan, Chairman of the KPK Employee Forum who is also investigator Yudi Purnomo, Director of Socialization and Anti-Corruption Campaign Giri Suprapdiono, Head of the KPK Task Force Harun Al-Rasyid, and Director of PJKAKI Sujarnarko were declared ineligible (TMS). Next, two other employees did not attend the interview test.
