At IKN, Prabowo Gives Corrections on Design and Function

President Prabowo Subianto arrives at the State Palace Grounds, in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan/ANTARA/HO-BPMI Setpres/pri.

President Prabowo Subianto has given a number of instructions to the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), and corrections include those related to the design and function of the construction of the executive, legislative, and judicial complex in the Nusantara Capital, East Kalimantan.

The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi explained that the OIKN and the Ministry of Public Works were asked to make a number of improvements, and accelerate the construction so that IKN as the Political Capital could be realized according to the target, namely in 2028.

"Last night (12/1) he (the President, ed) landed at IKN together with several ministers for this morning to get an update from the Chairman of the IKN regarding the progress of the development of our Nusantara Capital City, which the President has since the beginning emphasized to accelerate the development process of what is called the facilities that will be used for legislation and the judiciary, which hopefully can be completed in 2028," said Prasetyo Hadi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 13.

The chairman of OIKN who was mentioned by Prasetyo refers to Basuki Hadimuljono.

"So, there are still some things that the President corrected, first, for example, regarding the design, second, regarding the function. OIKN and the Ministry of Public Works are asked to continue to improve," continued Pras, Prasetyo's nickname.

At IKN, President Prabowo stayed overnight at a five-star hotel located in the core area of the Nusantara Capital City. IKN is President Prabowo's last destination in a series of working visits to Kalimantan.

The entourage of ministers who accompanied President Prabowo at the IKN included Minister of Home Affairs Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, and Head of the Government Communication Agency Angga Raka Prabowo.

On a separate occasion, Coordinating Minister AHY explained that the development of iKN as a smart city or smart city that is integrated with technology, does not only focus on the utilization of cutting-edge technologies, but also on the coordinated, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable development governance.

"IKN is designed as an efficient, environmentally friendly, and human-centered city. Therefore, cross-sector orchestration is the key to ensuring that the entire development ecosystem runs in harmony," said AHY.
