294 of 579 DPR Members Attend the 2026 Plenary Meeting

JAKARTA - A total of 294 of the 579 members of the Indonesian House of Representatives attended the 11th Plenary Meeting of the 2025-2026 Session Period III at the parliament complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 13 which was the first plenary meeting in 2026, after undergoing a recess since the beginning of December 2025.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani said that the figure was obtained based on records from the General Secretariat of the House of Representatives at the beginning of the meeting. In addition, he said that all members of the House of Representatives who were present represented all political party factions in the House of Representatives.

"Thus the quorum has been reached, and by saying 'bismillahirrahmanirrahim', we as the chairman of the board are allowed to open the plenary meeting," said Puan when opening the meeting.

He explained that the plenary meeting had a single agenda, namely the speech of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia at the Opening of the Third Session of the 2025-2026 Session.

In addition, in the meeting there will also be an Inter-change (PAW) to appoint members of the Indonesian House of Representatives to replace Mukhtarudin who has served as Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers.

Today, the DPR RI will hold another agenda, namely the meeting of the DPR RI Legislation Agency with the agenda of Preparing/Approving the Schedule of MS III Baleg Meeting Events for the 2025-2026 Session.

Then the Commission III of the DPR RI will also hold a Public Hearing (RDPU) with the Dean and Law Students of the General Achmad Yani University with the agenda of explaining the functions of the DPR RI and the bill process.
