JAKARTA - The East Jakarta District Court (PN) Panel of Judges has reduced the fine sentence for Rizieq Shihab in the crowd case in Megamendung.

One of the considerations is that the former leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) is a religious figure who is admired by the people.

The judge hoped that Rizieq Shihab could provide education for the people in the future to comply with the rules made by the government.

"The defendant is a religious figure who is admired by the people, so it is hoped that it will be able to foster the education of the people in the future to comply with government regulations for the benefit of the community," said the judge while reading out the consideration of the verdict at the East Jakarta District Court, Thursday, May 27 yesterday.
