JAKARTA - The Mataram City Police, West Nusa Tenggara, arrested a clothes convection businessman for controlling more than two ounces of white crystalline powder suspected of being a methamphetamine drug.

"The businessman we caught last night had the initials SF, aged 37, from Pengempel Indah, Mataram City," said Mataram Police Chief, Kombes Heri Wahyudi, in Mataram, as reported by Antara, Friday, May 28.

Heri explained that the man who also teaches the Koran and English language in his daily life was arrested with an "undercover buy" strategy, that is, by disguising the members as prospective buyers.

After an agreement on the purchase price of 25 grams of crystal methamphetamine for Rp. 100 million, SF planned a transaction at a restaurant in the Sayang-Sayang area, Mataram City.

"During the transaction, our team immediately carried out raids and searches of the perpetrators," he said.

As a result, members found six clear plastic clips containing white crystalline powder suspected of being methamphetamine with a gross weight of 31 grams. SF's cell phone was also secured along with cash, allegedly the result of a transaction worth IDR 2.3 million.

"After that, the development continues to the perpetrator's house in the Pengempel Indah area," he said.

From a search at SF's house, Heri explained, officers found two ounces of what was suspected of being methamphetamine in a large plastic clip. There is also evidence that strengthens SF's role as a dealer, such as digital scales, bundles of plastic clips of various sizes, and plastic pipettes with sharp edges.

The perpetrator who is now languishing behind bars at the Mataram Police Headquarters, he continued, admitted that he got the illegal goods from the East Lombok region.

"He admitted that he bought it in East Lombok and sold it again in Mataram. For one gram, he bought Rp.1.25 million and sold it again for Rp.1.4 million," said Yogi.

Regarding the source of the goods he mentioned, Heri ensured that this case would continue to develop in the field by pursuing the role of the supplier.

Furthermore, SF investigators admitted that they were forced to sell crystal methamphetamine to pay off their debts. However, SF, who was secured with evidence, is suspected of being methamphetamine, which is now under sentence of life imprisonment or the death penalty in accordance with Article 112 Paragraph 2 and / or Article 114 Paragraph 2 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35/2009 on Narcotics.

"So in the future, development will continue to be carried out, and we will test the validity of the evidence of this white crystalline powder suspected of methamphetamine in the laboratory," he said.
