Dasco's Report to Prabowo Revealed by Seskab Teddy

JAKARTA - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo Subianto received a report from Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad regarding recovery and rehabilitation measures for three provinces in Sumatra that were affected by flash floods and landslides, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, who is currently serving as the Task Force (Satgas) Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia for Post-disaster Recovery related to the Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Three Sumatra Provinces, delivered the report to President Prabowo in a limited meeting at the Presidential Service Residence, Widya Chandra Complex, Jakarta, Friday, December 2, 2026.

"In the meeting, Prof. Dasco's report as the Chairman of the Post-disaster Recovery Task Force from the Indonesian House of Representatives regarding the Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Three Provinces in Sumatra; the special assignment early this year from the President to each participant of the meeting," said Teddy when contacted in Jakarta, Friday evening.

However, Teddy did not reveal further reports that Dasco submitted to President Prabowo.

Teddy said the limited meeting at the President's residence took place in the afternoon and evening and was also attended by him as the Cabinet Secretary, then the Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Foreign Minister Sugiono.

The handling of the impact of flash floods and landslides in a number of regencies/cities in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra has entered the recovery, rehabilitation, and reconstruction stages, in line with the still valid emergency response period set by several regional heads.

President Prabowo at the end of 2025 to early 2026 flew directly to South Tapanuli, North Sumatra, and Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, to check directly the construction of bailey bridges and temporary housing built by Danantara for refugees.

President Prabowo also directly led a limited meeting to handle the impact of the disaster with a number of state officials, Danantara, and the boards of directors of state-owned enterprises in the construction sector, and other sectors related to the vital needs of refugees.

In a limited meeting in Aceh Tamiang, Thursday (1/1), President Prabowo received reports from his ranks regarding the handling of the impact of disasters, refugee problems, the construction of housing for refugees, and recovery measures carried out by the government, including plans to be carried out during the reconstruction and rehabilitation period.

President Prabowo, in the limited meeting, also agreed to the formation of the Kuala Task Force proposed by Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.

The task force will focus on dredging rivers that flow into the sea, especially to transport mud deposits from the riverbed, bring heavy equipment closer to the mainland, and process muddy water into clear water/clean water.

Minister of Defense Sjafrie, in the meeting, reported to President Prabowo, the Kuala Task Force will start working in the next 2 weeks with the first target in Kuala Simpang, Aceh Tamiang, Aceh.
