JAKARTA - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) oversees various online gaming platforms or online games, one of which is Roblox, so that it does not become a medium for spreading radicalization to children.

Head of BNPT Commissioner General of Police (Ret.) Eddy Hartono said Roblox is building an identification system for its game users.

"Finally, we monitor, he (Roblox) will identify it with a camera. So when you play later, the platform will immediately capture your face, if he captures his face, the children will immediately not be able to access it," said Eddy from Jakarta, Tuesday night, quoted by Antara.

In the End of Year Press Statement and Indonesian Terrorism Trends Development in 2025, which was monitored online, he continued, the government has also issued PP Tunas or Government Regulation (PP) Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of the Electronic System in Child Protection, to protect children in the digital space.

In the regulation, Eddy revealed that the owner of the online gaming platform is required to provide verification and security for who accesses it.

"With this PP Tunas, hopefully we can limit our children who are under 18 years old so that they do not access social media or online games," he said.

In addition, BNPT also continues to provide education and literacy related to the spread of radicalization in the digital space.

Previously, the Minister of Communication and Information Technology (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid continued to encourage socialization of Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of the Implementation of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (PP Tunas) as a digital realm rule for children that targets parents.

According to Meutya, PP Tunas needs support from the community, so it is hoped that the assistance of Information and Communication Technology (RTIK) Volunteers and various parties can be an extension of the government in explaining PP Tunas to remote areas.

"Because this is a form of government regulation, of course, if we read the PP, it may be a bit confusing, so we need many friends who also introduce this PP to parents in various regions in Indonesia," said Meutya at a media meeting at the "National Meeting of Digital Literacy Activists 2025 in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 12.

Meutya explained that the PP Tunas which was passed by President Prabowo Subianto on March 28, 2025 has not yet fully felt its impact, because each rule requires a minimum of one year for adjustment before its implementation can run optimally.

"Hopefully next year we can implement what we are waiting for the details of its implementation, because this is not easy. Australia also in November 2024 gave birth to its law, and it could only be implemented yesterday December 10 2025, because this is not easy," he said.
