Ditjen PAS Pindahkan 130 Napi High Risk ke Nusakambangan, Total 1.882 Sepanjang 2025

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjen PAS) has again transferred high-risk inmates to Nusakambangan Island. A total of 130 high-risk category inmates were transferred to a number of super maximum and maximum security correctional institutions (lapas).

Director General of Corrections, Mashudi, said that with this latest transfer, the total number of high-risk inmates from various regions in Indonesia who have been transferred to Nusakambangan throughout 2025 has reached 1,882 people.

"Until the end of this year, a total of 1,882 high-risk inmates from across Indonesia have been transferred to Nusakambangan," Mashudi said in a statement, Sunday, December 28, 2025.

Mashudi explained that this transfer was part of an effort to suppress security and order disturbances inside the prison and detention house (rutan). In addition, this step is expected to close the gap in the circulation of narcotics and the illegal use of mobile phones behind bars.

"One of them is to reduce security and order disturbances. This is also a form of implementing guidance and security according to the level of risk," he said.

Mashudi said that the 130 inmates were from prisons in Jambi, Riau, and Banten. Upon arrival at Nusakambangan, they were placed in six prisons with tight security, namely Batu Prison, Karanganyar, Besi, Gladakan, Narcotics Prison, and Ngaseman Prison.

"The relocation process went smoothly," he explained.

The transfer was carried out with tight escort. The Directorate of Security and Intelligence of the Directorate General of Corrections went down directly with corrections officers from the region of origin, Highway Patrol (PJR), police, and Brimob.

Head of the Class I Prison in Batu and Nusakambangan Regional Coordinator, Irfan, emphasized that after arriving in Nusakambangan, the inmates immediately underwent the reception procedure according to standard operating procedures (SOP), including health checks and administrative completeness.

"The acceptance is carried out according to SOP, including health checks and other administrative activities," he said.

In addition to the transfer of high-risk prisoners, on the same day the Directorate General of Corrections also transferred four inmates from the Tangerang Women's Prison to the Yogyakarta Women's Prison.

"The penitentiary also transferred four inmates from the Tangerang Women's Prison to the Yogyakarta Women's Prison," he said.
