Isn't It True That Ustaz Abdul Somad Is A Suspect, The Police Secure Money For Donations From The People?

JAKARTA - The news of Ustaz Abdul Somad (UAS) is a suspect circulating on social media. This information was uploaded to the Youtube account, Suara Inspirasi for the first time, on Tuesday, May 18.

In the narrative the uploader said, 'UAS Becomes a Suspect !! Police Secure Money Donations from People '

The video is 10.03 minutes long. On the cover page of the video there is an excerpt as follows: 'Finally revealed - the National Police Finds New Evidence, UAS entangled in Layered Articles.'

Is that right?

After being traced, the claim that UAS was a suspect in a fundraising case was false. In fact, until now there is no official and valid information regarding this claim.

In the video there is also no information or narrative stating that UAS has been secured by the National Police regarding allegations of fraud in public donations. The video, as quoted from turnbackhoaks, only contains the highlights of several figures regarding the transparency of the donations that have been collected.

"In addition, based on tracing via Yandex, the video thumbnail showing UAS wearing an orange prison suit with the Police is an edited result," wrote turnbackhoaks.

Yandex's search results show that the image is identical to the article entitled Memiles Case Developments, Who Else the Checked Artist uploaded on the kompas.tv site on January 21, 2020.

The photo in the article does not contain a UAS figure wearing an orange prison suit and the article also has nothing to do with the news that UAS is a suspect.

Similar videos stating that UAS was caught in a fraud case has circulated on several Youtube accounts and shared through several other social media platforms. In response to this, several fact-checking media have denied the allegation because there was no official information and news and the National Police and other stakeholders involved.

"Thus, UAS 'claim to be a suspect in the case of fraud of money donated by the people is a hoax with a misleading content category," he said.
