Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar attended the 17th Anniversary Celebration of GEKIRA

JAKARTA - The Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, Nasaruddin Umar, attended the 17th anniversary celebration of the Indonesian Christian Movement Raya (GEKIRA) with the theme "Christ's Peace, Uniting Families, Nations and States" at the NT Tower, East Jakarta, Sunday, December 21, 2025.

"Our country is a Pancasila state with a supreme God. So religious ceremonies like this are very contributory to the realization of a great nation in the masses to come," said Nasaruddin Umar to reporters.

Furthermore, Nasaruddin also said that his party strongly supports the GEKIRA activities.

"What can bring us closer to God, we need to support it, we need to appreciate it and this is our pride," he said.

Nasaruddin emphasized that his party attended the 17th anniversary celebration of the Indonesian Christian Movement Raya (GEKIRA) as the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia.

"I wish Christmas and a happy new year to all Christians in Indonesia. The minister of religion is not the minister of Islamic religion, but becomes all. The minister of all directions, all majors, all streams," he said.

The activity was also attended by Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Chairman of the PP GEKIRA Board of Trustees, as well as the Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Indonesia for Climate and Energy and Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees.

Also present were the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Saifullah Yusuf, to the General Chairman of PP GEKIRA, Nikson Silalahi.
