The Number of Passengers at the Jember Daop Station Increases Ahead of the Nataru Holiday

JEMBER - The number of passengers at a number of stations in the Jember Operation Area (Daop) 9 area along the Pasuruan Regency to Banyuwangi, East Java, showed an increase ahead of the 2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays.

"Entering the third day of the Nataru Transportation period, we recorded a trend of increasing community mobility that uses train services as a safe, comfortable, and timely transportation mode of choice," said Legal and Public Relations Manager of Daop 9 Cahyo Widiantoro in Jember, Saturday.

Based on data, the number of passengers who boarded at a number of Daop Jember stations on December 18, 2025 was 9,447 people and increased on December 19, 2025 by 10,619 people.

Meanwhile, the passengers who got off at a number of stations in the Daop 9 Jember area on Thursday (18/12) were 9,913 people and increased on Friday (19/12) to 11,099 people.

"This Saturday until 09.30 WIB, it was recorded that 9,932 people departed, while 10,036 people disembarked in the Daop 9 area. This number is predicted to continue to increase," he said.

Thus, until the third day of the Nataru transportation, a total of 29,998 passengers have departed from various stations in the Daop 9 Jember area, ranging from Pasuruan to Banyuwangi.

"The enthusiasm of residents who come to the Daop 9 area is also no less high because as many as 30,248 passengers who use the train transportation mode have come down to miss their hometowns," he said.

He explained that KAI is committed to escorting every customer's journey to be safe and comfortable because the train is not just a means of transportation, but a bridge for those who want to return to their families.

"Seeing the smiles of passengers when they get off at the station platform is our motivation to continue to provide the best service. We ensure that all facilities and infrastructure are in excellent condition to serve the surge in passengers during the Christmas season," he said.

Cahyo also appealed to customers to come to the station early and not come close to the train departure schedule. This is important to avoid queues and ensure that the journey runs smoothly and comfortably," he said.

KAI reminds passengers to bring enough carry-on baggage in accordance with applicable regulations, so that the process of boarding and disembarking passengers can run more orderly and safely.

"With good preparation from passengers, we are optimistic that travel during the Christmas and New Year transportation period can take place safely, comfortably, and memorable for all people," he said.
