JAKARTA - The discourse on the formation of a New Autonomous Region (DOB) in Bogor Regency is again gaining strength, especially the expansion of West Bogor Regency and East Bogor Regency which have long been fought for by the community.

The issue of expansion has even been rolling since more than two decades ago. The founder of Visi Nusantara Maju, Yusfitriadi, said that the proposal for the expansion of West Bogor Regency had been submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs since 2004.

However, until now, the expansion has not been realized even though it is considered feasible in terms of academic and administrative studies.

"In the perspective of scientific studies, all aspects of eligibility have been completed for a long time, both in terms of territory, economy, and population. The same is true for East Bogor," said Yusfitriadi, Thursday, December 18.

According to Yusfitriadi, the only main factor that hinders the realization of DOB is the moratorium policy on the formation of new autonomous regions which was imposed by the central government since 2014 through Law Number 23 of 2014.

Yusfitriadi also appreciated the concrete steps of the Regent and Deputy Regent of Bogor for the 2025-2030 period, Rudy Susmanto and Ade Ruhandi, who openly expressed their support for the expansion of West Bogor and East Bogor through their vision and mission of leadership.

Meanwhile, in the Workshop, Inauguration, and Working Conference of the Committee for the Preparation of the Formation of the West Bogor Regency (KPPKBB) held last Wednesday, December 17, the Regent and Deputy Regent of Bogor emphasized their commitment to regional development and support for the expansion of West Bogor and East Bogor.

On this occasion, the Bogor Regent conveyed various development programs that targeted all areas of Bogor Regency. He dispelled the notion that development was only focused on the Cibinong area.
