Bengkulu-Taba Toll Case Penanjung Naik Green Table, 4 Suspects Are Sent to JPU

BENGKULU - Investigators of the Special Criminal Act (Pidsus) of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office have handed over a case file and four suspects in the alleged corruption case of the Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung Toll Road project to the public prosecutor (JPU).

The four suspects are the former Head of the National Land Agency (BPN) of Bengkulu Tengah Regency, Hazairin Masrie, the former Head of the BPN Measurement Section of Bengkulu Tengah Regency, Ahadiya Seftiana, a lawyer named Hartanto, and the head of the Public Appraisal Service Office (KJPP) Toto Suharto.

"We received the transfer of the case of corruption in the land acquisition funds for the Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung Toll Road. Furthermore, this case is in the prosecution stage," said Assistant Intelligence of the Bengkulu Regional Attorney General David Palapa Duarsa through the Head of the Prosecution Section of the Bengkulu Regional Attorney General Arief Wirawan in Bengkulu City, Antara, Friday, December 19.

Arief explained that the transfer was carried out after the case files and evidence of the suspects were declared complete or P21. All suspects will then undergo the prosecution and trial process at the Bengkulu Corruption Crime Court (PN Tipikor).

The four suspects will also undergo further detention for the next 20 days. During this period, the JPU will prepare the indictment file before the case is referred to court.

"In the next 20 days, the JPU will focus on preparing the file for transfer to the court or the stage of the indictment plan," said Arief.

Previously, the Bengkulu Attorney General's investigators also seized assets belonging to one of the suspects, Hartanto. The assets seized were land and buildings in Jalan Gedang Village, Bengkulu City, which were known to be the suspect's private house.

"We confiscated a private house belonging to one of the suspects in the development of the case of alleged corruption in the release of land for the Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung Toll Road," said Head of the Investigation Section of the Bengkulu Regional Attorney's Office, Danang Prasetyo.

The seizure was carried out based on the seizure order of the Head of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office as well as the determination of the Bengkulu District Court. Investigators have also put up a seizure sign as a marker that the assets are under the supervision of the Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office.

Based on the results of the examination, Hartanto was known to be a lawyer for nine residents affected by the toll road construction with a total budget of Rp. 15 billion. From the nine residents, investigators found a flow of funds that entered the suspect.
