JAKARTA - The Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 launched a mobile-based application United Against COVID (BLC) today. The public is asked to download and use an application made to help deal with the corona virus.

The initiators of the BLC application are young millennials, including Epidemiology Expert Dewi Nur Aisyah, BLC Apps Content Lead Sheila Rachma, Founder Fight COVID-19 Ahmad Alghozi Ramadhan, and BLC Apps Developer, Kevin Daniel Pantasdo.

BLC Apps Developer Kevin Daniel Pantasdo stated that the public can find various information regarding the handling of COVID-19 in their respective areas, starting from the vulnerability level of an area to finding a COVID-19 referral hospital.

In addition, this application helps the public to detect symptoms of COVID-19. If there is a situation where the community feels recognized symptoms, this helps to accelerate consultation and self-examination by health workers at an early stage.

"People can also carry out self-diagnosis using algorithms from a team of medical experts and supported by machine learning technology," Kevin said at a press conference at Graha BNPB, East Jakarta, Sunday, May 3.

Kevin continued, this application has been integrated with the most complete data directly and sourced directly from the task force. The display of the COVID-19 distribution application can be seen easily, so that people can build awareness.

Sheila Rachma, the leader of the BLC application content program, continued, the Bersatu Against COVID feature was developed based on the latest data, scientific reviews and evidence-based.

"The public can use the independent symptom check feature to find out their health status, self-isolation monitoring, teleconsultation, find out the vulnerability of the area and daily education," said Sheila.

Apart from being used for the community, the features in the Bersatu Against COVID application can also be used for officers in the field, such as medical, psychology, logistics and providing dashboards to the government.

Epidemiology expert Dewi Nur Aisyah said that this application has fast, accurate and integrated data needed to formulate policies and strategies in dealing with pandemics. Integrated data is not only related to health data but other data, such as economic and social data.

"This is like a navigation map in dealing with COVID-19," said Dewi.

Currently, this application can only be downloaded on Android-based devices on the PlayStore http://bit.ly/BLCplaystore or can access the application link on the covid19.go.id page. In the future, the BLC application can also work on iOS-based devices.
