JAKARTA - The film "Mendak Dangdut" comes back with a new twist through director Monty Tiwa's work and the main role by Anya Geraldine. This film wants to build an authentic dangdut feel through background music and soundtracks.

To make this happen, the production house for the film Amadeus Sinemagna collaborated with HP Records, one of the well-known record labels in the realm of dangdut.

"We are collaborating with HP Records, a name that is widely known in the dangdut music industry. Maybe if media friends understand that in the dangdut music world, this is a familiar name," said film executive producer "Mendak Dangdut" Indra Yudhistira in the Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, citing ANTARA on Tuesday, April 22.

Indra confirmed that the collaboration with HP Records had helped his team in presenting an authentic dangdut nuance in the production of the film.

With a collection of HP Records dangdut songs reaching around 5,000 to 6,000, including popular works from Rhoma Irama and Elvy Sukaesih, the production team has become many choices for use, adjusting music with emotions and the context of every film scene.

"We were given dangdut music, there were about five thick song catalog books like that. They said, 'nih, okay'. There are all thousands of them, so that's why we finally got to choose a lot of songs that match 'scene'," said Indra.

One of the dangdut songs selected was "The Poorest in the World", which actor Keanu Angelo (player of Wawan, keyboardist of the Ria Buana orchestra) will perform with a Malay vocal grip.

The song was originally popularized by dangdut singer Hamdan ATT.

The latest film "Mendak Dangdut" also re-recorded six popular dangdut songs as well as an indie song entitled "Caramu" (Your Way) to be sung by the lead actor of the film, Anya Geraldine.
