9-Year-Old Boy Dies in a Luxury House in Cilegon, Police Have Not Concluded Robbery

JAKARTA - A 9-year-old child was killed by a sharp weapon at the BBS 3 Housing, Ciwaduk Village, Cilegon District, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. It is suspected that the case is related to a robbery. However, until now, the police have not confirmed it.

The Head of Public Relations of the Cilegon Police, AKP Sigit Dermawan, confirmed the murder. However, he emphasized that the police were still investigating the motive for the incident.

"Yes, there were indeed fatalities (not confirming theft or motive)," Sigit told the media, Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

Meanwhile, Cilegon City Police Chief Kompol Firman Hamid explained that based on initial information, officers checked to Bethsaida Hospital, Cilegon City, around 15.30 WIB after receiving a report of a stabbing victim who was declared dead by the hospital.

"The victim with the initials E, a boy aged 9 years. Meanwhile, the initial witness in the incident was the victim's brother with the initials D,"

Firman revealed that from the witness's statement, the incident began at around 14.20 WIB when the victim's father, HM, received a phone call from his second child who sounded panicked and asked for help.

"After receiving the victim's father's phone call, he immediately left his workplace in the Ciwandan area and headed to the family's house in the BBS 3 Complex, Ciwaduk Village, Cilegon City. However, upon arriving at the house, the victim's father found his son in a prone position with serious injuries accompanied by heavy bleeding," said Firman.

The victim was then immediately taken to Bethsaida Hospital, Cilegon City, using a private vehicle with witnesses.

"After a medical examination, the hospital stated that the victim had died due to a stabbing wound," he said.

The police then conducted a check, and handled the crime scene (TKP).

Furthermore, Firman said that the police were committed to investigating this case thoroughly and professionally.

"We share the deep grief over this incident. Currently, the Cilegon City Police together with the Cilegon Police Criminal Investigation Unit have taken intensive investigative steps. All available information and clues are being investigated to uncover the perpetrators and the motives of the incident," he said.

He also emphasized that the police would work as hard as possible and asked the public to remain calm and entrust the legal process entirely to the police.

"We appeal to the public not to speculate and not to spread information that has not been confirmed to be true. We will officially communicate the development of the case," he added.
