JAKARTA - The Bangka Regency Government (Pemkab) has repaired the embankment of a connecting bridge in Belinyu District that was damaged by the natural disaster of flooding.
"We are repairing the embankment of the connecting bridge and it is estimated to be completed by the end of December 2025," said Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Bangka Regency, Mulyarto Kurniawan in Sungailiat, Tuesday, quoted by Antara.
He said that the improvement of the bridge talud was using emergency funds from the Unexpected Expenditure (BTT) with a budget of approximately Rp. 100 million.
"The improvement of the talud bridge connecting the place in Kampung Stasiun 6 RT 01 Gunung Pelawan Village with the 2nd Ditch of Bukit Ketok Village, Belinyu District, is considered quite important so that the activities of the community in that area can run smoothly," he said.
He ensured that although the damage was to the talud of the bridge, the damage could threaten the shoulder of the road and it was feared that it would get worse if it was not immediately repaired.
The construction of this talud is considered quite important to resist water pressure besides the bridge.
The head of the Bangka Regency BPBD, Rusmansyah, said that the damage to the front side of the bridge was approximately four meters long with a depth of about five meters.
"The heavy rain that occurred a few days ago, admitted to not only damaging the infrastructure of the connecting bridge, but also soaking hundreds of residents' houses in several sub-districts in Bangka Regency," he said.

"I ask the public to immediately report to the village government or directly to the BPBD if they experience natural disasters so that they can immediately receive assistance," he said.
