Longsor and Flood Disaster Hits 9 Districts in Sukabumi

SUKABUMI - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency, West Java, reported that landslides and floods had hit nine sub-districts and joint officers were carrying out mitigation efforts and providing assistance.

The Manager of the BPBD Sukabumi Regency Operation Control Center, Daeng Sutisna, told ANTARA in Sukabumi Regency, Tuesday morning, that his party had directly reported the incident to Regent Asep Japar and other related elements on Monday, December 15.

He said that the disaster in Warungkiara District occurred in Lio Cilandak Village RT 05/01 Sirnajaya Village in the form of a landslide that covered the district road access. In Cigadog Village RT 02/07 Bantarkalong Village, the landslide also closed the district road next to the Cimandiri Leuwi Lalay bridge.

The Cikolomeran bridge connecting Hegarmanah Village-Bantarkalong collapsed, while the village road in Bojonghaur Village collapsed.

Flash floods in Mekarjaya Village destroyed an area of about 2 hectares of farmland.

In Caringin District, landslides occurred in Peundeuy RT 03 RW 08 Village, Seuseupan Village, then in Jaura RT 03 RW 10 Village, Seuseupan Village, the Cibalung irrigation channel broke and could not irrigate the residents' ponds and rice fields.

In Cibadak District, a landslide occurred in the downstream Cibatu Village RT 02/011 Sekarwangi Village, which hit five houses of residents, in Peundeuy Village RT 03/09 Warnajati Village, a landslide also occurred and two houses were threatened.

In Ciemas District, a landslide occurred in Mekarasih Village RT 05/03 Ciemas Village so that the Mekarasih - Pamuyangan road could not be passed by vehicles and hit one house.

In Cikembar District, a landslide caused a landslide in Cicatih Village RT 01/05, Cimanggu Village, which hit two houses and had to be relocated to a safe place.

Then a landslide in Muara Cisampih Village RT 003/010 and Genteng Village RT 002/006 Sukamaju Village, Cikembar District, hit residents' houses and closed the Cicatih irrigation channel. Landslides also occurred in Muara Cisampih Village RT 003/010 Sukamaju Village

In the Central Jampang District, a landslide hit Pasirmalang Village RT 001/008, Jampangtengah Village, Cibuhung Village RT 01/02, Mangunjaya Village, Cibogo Village RT 01/12, and Cijagung Village RT 06/11, Bojonggaling Village, Citamiang Village and Pasapen Village Bantargadung, and Rawatan Village RT 05/06, Bantargebang Village.

Landslides and floods also hit Simpenan District, namely in Sawah Tengah RT 06/15 Village, Cidadap District, Simpenan District. One house was washed away and its residents were evacuated, while 15 other houses were affected.

In Cikadaka Village RT 03/14 Cidadap Village, the flood also hit 20 houses and landslides, then in Babakan Cisarua Village RT 02/14 Cidadap Village, 20 houses were hit, as well as in Legok Loa Village RT 08 and 09 RW 02 Cibuntu Village.

Daeng emphasized that his ranks were assisted by related authorities in dealing with the disaster and distributing assistance to affected residents.
