JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Directorate of Protection of Indonesian Citizens in cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy in Yangon and the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, has again successfully repatriated 54 Indonesian Citizens (WNI) from the Myanmar-Thailand border.

All Indonesian citizens arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday morning, December 13, 2025, at around 05.30 WIB, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, Saturday (13/12).

Upon arrival in the country, they were immediately handed over to the relevant agencies for further handling and assistance in accordance with the applicable procedures.

This repatriation is part of the Indonesian Government's ongoing efforts to handle Indonesian citizens affected by the operations of the Myanmar Government against online scamming and online gambling activity centers in the Myawaddy region. During the operation, a total of 349 Indonesian citizens were successfully secured.

Until December 9, 2025, a total of 302 Indonesian citizens are still in the process of being repatriated gradually. Repatriation is currently prioritized for Indonesian citizens who have expressed their readiness to finance the repatriation ticket independently.
