Government Gives Compensation To 22 Victims Of Terra Drone Fire

The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has ensured that the government will provide compensation to the dead and injured victims in the violent fire incident that hit the Terra Drone Building on Jalan Letjen Soeprapto, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The fire that occurred on Tuesday, December 9 afternoon caused serious casualties and injuries, so that further handling was carried out.

Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul expressed his deep sorrow for the incident. He emphasized that the state was here to help survivors and the families of the victims to ease their burden.

According to him, government support is an important part of the social recovery process for people affected by disasters.

Gus Ipul explained that the Ministry of Social Affairs would distribute compensation to the heirs of the 22 victims who died. Each heir is entitled to receive assistance of Rp. 15 million in accordance with the provisions of the applicable social protection program.

Although the aid scheme has been prepared, the distribution process is still waiting for the data collection of victims of the Terra Drone Building fire to be completed. Identification, verification, and matching of data with the heirs are ongoing so that the distribution of compensation goes right on target.

"Currently we are conducting an assessment. After being identified and we coordinate with the heirs, in due course we will distribute the compensation," he said.

The Ministry of Social Affairs hopes that the assistance can reduce the burden on the families of victims of the Terra Drone Building fire accident. The government also urges the public to remain vigilant, especially against potential fires in dense areas of activity and technology such as office buildings and industrial facilities.

"God willing, later we will provide compassion for those who died. In accordance with the Ministry of Social's program, compensation of Rp. 15 million per person will be given to the heirs," said Saifullah Yusuf.

In addition to the victims who died, the Ministry of Social Affairs also prepared assistance for injured victims. Victims with serious injuries are entitled to compensation of Rp. 5 million. The amount of assistance for each survivor will be determined based on the field assessment being carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs team.
