Gus Yahya's Camp Calls The Plenary Meeting In Jakarta Illegal And Violating AD/ART

JAKARTA - The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board emphasized that the Plenary Meeting which was held at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, was invalid because it was against the organizational constitution, namely AD/ART and ignored the direction of the senior and mustasyar kiai.

PBNU Secretary General Amin Said Husni said that the forum did not have a constitutional basis in the organization. The senior kiai, through a meeting in Ploso and Tebuireng, had previously given firm directions regarding the impeachment of the general chairman of PBNU.

The Pleno meeting held by Rais Aam clearly ignored the call of mustasyar and senior kiai in Ploso and Tebuireng. "The senior Kiai emphasized that the impeachment of the General Chair is contrary to the AD/ART, and all steps sourced from there also violate organizational regulations," Amin said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 10.

In addition to contradicting the direction of the kiai, according to him, the meeting was also considered not to meet formal requirements as a Plenary Meeting.

Amin emphasized that the meeting participants were only a very small number of members who had plenary rights.

What is called the Plenary Meeting at the Sultan Hotel does not have any legitimacy, because only a quarter of the members of the plenary session attended. Therefore, the majority of members refused. Most of the PBNU plenary members remained obedient to the direction of the elderly kiai in Ploso and Tebuireng," he said.

According to PBNU, the violation mainly lies in the substance of meeting decisions that are contrary to the organizational constitution.

"Above all of them, the Plenary Meeting which took place at the Sultan Hotel clearly explored and contradicted the AD/ART," said Amin.

Previously, the Plenary Meeting of Syuriyah, the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) appointed Zulfa Mustofa as acting (Pj) for the General Chairperson of PBNU replacing Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahyayang which took place at the Sultan Hotel, Central Jakarta, Tuesday night.

"The appointment of the general chairman of PBNU is the remaining service, namely Mr. KH. Zulfa Mustofa," said PBNU Rais Syuriyah Muhammad Nuh.

Zulfa Mustofa was previously the Deputy Chairperson of PBNU. He will hold a new position until the congress which is planned to be held in 2026.
