Had Paralyzed, Aceh Tamiang Hospital Returned To Normal Operation

BANDA ACEH - Aceh Tamiang Regional General Hospital (RSUD) returned to normal operations after being completely paralyzed due to flash floods at the end of November 2025. Medical services and connectivity at the RSUD are now running as usual, ready to serve the affected communities.

Aceh Regent Tamiang Armia Fahmi said the operation of the RSUD has recovered and can be fully used to serve the community. This recovery is in line with an order from the minister of health which emphasizes that health services must be prioritized at the Aceh Tamiang Hospital.

One of the crucial needs, namely clean water for medical services, is now available. This availability is thanks to the quick assistance from PDAM, Bapaldam Iskandar Muda and Polda Aceh. Likewise, medical personnel support also flows. A number of volunteer medical personnel from North Sumatra have come down to help. They generally are volunteers who offer themselves voluntarily," said Armia in her statement, Tuesday, December 9.

Armia explained that the medical team also went to emergency posts to provide services. Among them are focusing on dealing with pregnant women and toddlers, as the group most vulnerable to post-disaster effects. In addition to medical services, Bank Aceh actively participated by helping supply medicine needs for the community.

People who seek post-flood treatment generally experience complaints such as coughs, itching, and other skin diseases that often arise due to poor sanitation after the water recedes," he added.

To expand the reach of health services to affected areas, the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government has also established 10 units of emergency health centers in a number of strategic locations.

The presence of this emergency health center is expected to facilitate access to health for residents who live far from the main hospital.

Armia appealed to the public to immediately take advantage of health services that have been reactivated and emergency posts if they feel health problems after the flash flood in Aceh Tamiang.
