Bullet Fails To Explode, Police Successfully Disable Marijuana Distributors In Bengkulu

The Bengkulu Police Narcotics Investigation Unit arrested two suspects of marijuana-type narcotics and confiscated four kilograms of evidence and one homemade firearm. The two suspects are DF (25), a resident of Lmundur Village, Pendopo District, Empat Lawang, and PM (25), a resident of Bentiling Permai Village, Bengkulu City.

Bengkulu Police Chief Kombes Sudarno said DF had to be paralyzed for fighting officers by firing homemade firearms.

"The suspect DF had to be paralyzed because he tried to fight back by shooting at members. The firearms have been fired, but ammunition failed to explode or a bullet," said Sudarno in Bengkulu, Antara, Tuesday, December 9.

From DF's hands, the police confiscated homemade firearms along with three rounds of ammunition. The suspect was shot in the leg for threatening the safety of officers.

The arrest began with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect in the theft case who turned out to be an armed marijuana dealer. The joint team then carried out a raid at the perpetrator's hiding place in Pagar Dewa Village, Bengkulu City.

"After being arrested, the joint team searched the suspect's hiding place and found four kilograms of dried marijuana," said Sudarno.

From the results of the examination, marijuana was obtained from the Lintang area, Empat Lawang Regency, South Sumatra, at a price of Rp. 2 million per kilogram. DF bought a total of six kilograms of marijuana, two kilograms of which had been sold to a Seluma resident.

“Ganja dibeli enam kilogram, dua kilogram sudah dijual ke Seluma, sisanya akan diedarkan di Kota Bengkulu. Senjata api dibeli seharga Rp1,5 juta untuk berjaga diri saat mengedarkan ganja,” kata Sudarno.

"Ganja was bought for six kilograms, two kilograms have been sold to Seluma, the rest will be circulated in Bengkulu City. Firearms were purchased for IDR 1.5 million to stand guard while distributing marijuana," said Sudarno.
