Emergency Bridge In Koto Balingka Opens Residents' Isolation After Flash Flood

Head of the Army Information Service Brigadier General Donny Pramono said his staff was building an emergency bridge or bailey in the Jorong Sikabau area, Nagari Pematang Panjang, Koto Balingka District, West Sumatra.

Donny when confirmed said the bridge was built to connect roads that were previously cut off due to flash floods.

"We deployed Kodam XX/Mrku Imam Bonjol to build a bridge at that location," Donny said as quoted by Antara.

Donny continued that TNI AD personnel had been building bridges since last Monday involving Denzipur 2/Prasada Sakti Payakumbuh personnel, Battalion TP 896/Perimpun Pseko Jambi, and Koramil 07/Air Bangis.

To date, personnel from the Engineer Unit are setting the foundations, compiling steel panels, and assembling a bailey structure that is known to be fast and efficient for emergency situations.

He said each component was carefully assembled to ensure the safety and resilience of the bridge.

Donny could not confirm when the bridge would be completed. However, his party will work as quickly and as much as possible to provide a decent road for residents.

"This new access is expected to be able to facilitate the distribution of aid, restore the mobility of residents, and support the revival of post-disaster economic activity," Donny explained.
