The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Aceh Regency noted that as many as 25 villages spread over six sub-districts were again flooded with water levels ranging from 20 to 50 centimeters.

"The cause of this flood again was due to high rainfall, causing the river flow to overflow," said West Aceh BPBD Head, Teuku Ronal Nehdiansyah, Monday, December 8.

Previously, on Wednesday (26/11) a number of areas in this area were also flooded with water levels reaching above one meter.

Floods as high as 40 to 50 centimeters also submerged seven villages in Woyla Barat District covering Napai Village, Cot Lagan Village, Leubok Pasi Ara Village, Lhok Malee Village, Blang Cot Rubek Village, Alue Leuhop Village and Ulee Pasi Ara Village.

In Meureubo District, floods submerged three villages including Ranto Panyang Timur Village, Pasi Aceh Tunong Village and Pasi Aceh Baroh Village with water levels ranging from 20 to 30 centimeters.

Floods also submerged eight villages in Kaway XVI District, West Aceh Regency including Alue Tampak Village, Gampong Masjid, Keudee Aron, Pasi Jambu, Tumpok Ladang, Meunasah Rayeuk, Meunasah Buloh, and Pasi Teungoh with an average water level of 20 centimeters.

Teuku Ronal said that until now the team from West Aceh BPBD is still trying to collect data on the impacts caused by the floods, as well as ensuring whether or not there are residents who are victims of this disaster.

"The loss is also still being collected," said Teuku Ronal Nehdiansyah.
