JAKARTA - The Director General of Corrections (Dirjenpas) Mashudi said that several Correctional Institutions (Lapas) in Aceh still cannot be reviewed because they are still isolated after the flood disaster.
"Lapas that cannot be accessed because of bridges and broken roads are Idi Prison, Bener Meriah Prison, Takengon Prison and Blangkejeren Prison," said Mashudi in a statement received by VOI, Sunday, December 7, 2025.
Meanwhile, although it is still isolated, the Kutacane Prison can still be accessed through the Medan area.
In addition to prisons and detention centers experiencing damage due to floods, there are also a number of prison officers' houses that were severely damaged due to flooding.
Dirjenpas also provided assistance to correctional officers affected by the flood disaster.
"We as optimally as possible meet the needs of what the Minister of Immigration and Corrections has conveyed to respond and carry out quick steps in addition to donations and material assistance support from all ranks of IMIPAS," he said.
Dirjenpas also continues to coordinate with the Regional Government, TNI, Polri, PLN and all related parties.
"Please pray that the prisons that are flooded can recover and serve the community as before," he said.
Previously, based on temporary data from the Aceh Government, at least five areas experienced heavy category flooding, namely East Aceh Regency, Aceh Tamiang, North Aceh, parts of Bireuen, and parts of Central Aceh.
