Acceleration Of Aceh Rehabilitation Begins, Ministry Of PKP Focuses On Recovering Public Facilities

JAKARTA - Immediately recovering public facilities such as mosques, environmental roads, and children's playrooms, in addition to post-disaster housing in Aceh, is now being prepared by the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP).

"This acceleration is not to precede the emergency response process, but as a parallel effort so that there is no time lag when the rehabilitation and reconstruction phase begins," said the Director General of Rural Housing of the Ministry of PKP Imran, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, December 6.

The Central Government through the Ministry of PKP moved quickly to deal with the impact of the large floods that hit Aceh. Since Tuesday (2/12), PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait (Ara) has coordinated intensively with a number of parties, including the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).

Ara emphasized that the acceleration of rehabilitation and reconstruction must begin during the emergency response period, so that the recovery of community conditions can take place as quickly as possible.

As a first step, he was quick to form a post-disaster Acceleration Task Force consisting of three teams for the Aceh, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), and West Sumatra (West Sumatra) regions.

The North Sumatra and West Sumatra teams have moved earlier to conduct field visits, while the team on duty to Aceh must depart following flight limitations.

While in Aceh, the Director General of Rural Housing, Imran, accompanied by the Director of Systems and Strategies for the Development of Rural Housing Hari Rubiyanto and Special Staff to Minister Salamuddin Daeng, immediately held a strategic meeting with the Aceh Government.

The meeting was attended by the wife of the Governor of Aceh Marlina Muzakir and the Head of the Aceh Public Housing and Settlement Area Office T. Aznal Zahri.

On this occasion, representatives of the Ministry of PKP apologized for the sudden arrival, as well as explaining the urgency of Minister Ara's instructions to accelerate handling in a measured and responsive manner.

"We apologize for the sudden arrival, as well as explaining the special instructions of the Minister of Ara who asked for the acceleration of handling to be carried out in a measured and fast manner," said Imran.
