Aceh Regent Tamiang Denies The Issue Of 250 Residents From One Village Died Due To Floods

BANDA ACEH - Aceh Regent Tamiang denied the issue of 250 residents in Kampung Dalam, Karang Baru District, a local district who died due to flash floods a few days ago.

"I emphasize that it is not true (the issue of 250 residents of Kampung Dalam died). Don't believe it, it is heretical information," said Aceh Tamiang Regent Armia Fahmi, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 4.

He said that if people want to get valid data about the development of flood disaster management in Aceh Tamiang, they should come directly to the Main Command Post that has been formed by the government.

"If you want to ask for valid data, please come to the Alam Talk Post in the Paya Bedi Village pre-district housing," he said.

Armia explained that there were residents who died as a result of the flood disaster in the village, but not much like the rumors circulating. The area is also not an outland area.

"It was in Kampung Dalam who died there. But I don't think there are too many," he said.

In fact, he said, when the flood hit the first, he had crossed the river in the area, because he was confined by floods in the Karang Baru area near the BPBD Office.

"Yesterday I crossed the river through Kampung Dalam. But because the current was strong, I passed through the calm water. We poured and entered there, we saw nothing. I don't think there are too many people floating," said Armia.

Armia said that the distribution of logistics to flood-affected villages was carried out using means of transportation, including tractors, to bring aid to difficult access areas.

"There are already a lot of empty tractor equipment to send back to villages that we think we have not touched, especially in the Tenggulun, Tamiang Hulu areas. The Iyu and Banda Mulia rivers," said Armia Fahmi.
