Israeli Army Expand Military Operations In West Bank

JAKARTA - The Israeli army expanded its military operations in the northern West Bank on Thursday, imposing a tight siege within Kafr Saba in Qalqilya and limiting the movement of Palestinians in the area.

Israeli forces stormed Qalqilya at dawn and imposed a curfew on Kafr Saba while spreading in parts of the city, witnesses told Anadolu, as reported Thursday (4/12).

They said soldiers searched houses and interrogated residents as tensions escalated around the neighborhood.

In related developments, soldiers withdrew from Masliya City, south of Jenin, after storming for hours and imposing a curfew. Damage to the attack is still visible throughout the city.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces resumed their nearest third-day operations in Qabatiya, imposing strict movement restrictions and repeated raids on homes.

Cities in the North West Bank have experienced sharp escalation since last week after Israeli troops launched new operations, starting in Tubas and Tammun before expanding to Qabatiya and Masliya.

Israel's military operations include curfews, raids, mass detentions, and infrastructure destruction.

More than 1,087 Palestinians have been killed and 10,700 injured in attacks by Israeli soldiers and illegal settlers in occupied areas since October 2023. More than 20,500 people have also been arrested.

In an important ruling in July last year, the International Court declared Israel's occupation of illegal Palestinian territories and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
