Playing On The Page, Boy In Karangasem Killed By Lightning

KARANGASEM - A boy with the initials IKDS (8) from Bhuana Giri Village, Karangasem Regency, Bali, died after being struck by lightning in his yard.

The Chief Executive of the Karangasem BPBD, Ida Bagus Ketut Arimbawa, confirmed the tragic events that occurred on Wednesday (13/12).

"For the victims who died," said Arimbawa, Thursday, December 4.

Chronologically, at around 17.30 WITA, the victim was playing in his yard under a 10-meter-high mango tree with his cousin with the initials IKNP (8).

At that time, the weather was raining and suddenly a lightning strike hit, and both of them fainted.

The incident was first noticed by the mother of the victim. The two victims were then taken to Balimed Hospital, Karangasem.

"The cousin was safe and has been sent back to his house. Meanwhile, the victim was checked by the doctor and there was no pulse, so he was declared dead and then he would be taken to the funeral home," he said.
