Absent In 2024, KPK Again Invites Prabowo At The Peak Of The 2025 Hakordia Event

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) hopes that President Prabowo Subianto will be present at the peak of the World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) event in Yogyakarta on December 9. He is expected to open activities and launch the announcement of the results of the 2025 Integrity Assessment Survey (SPI).

"Certainly we will invite the President. As a leader of the country, we will invite and hope with respect that he is willing or willing to attend the top event," said KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, December 3.

Setyo said the invitation letter had been sent by the anti-corruption commission to the Palace. "We have also coordinated with the Minister of State Secretary or the Minister of State Secretary to submit his request," said the former Director of Investigation of the KPK.

"Because the time is still a few days ahead, of course there will be information updates regarding his presence. But, once again, we really hope for his presence in the context of implementing Hakordia 2025," continued Setyo.

As a reminder, President Prabowo Subianto was absent from the peak of the 2024 Hakordia implementation even though he was invited at the beginning of his term of office. At that time the activity was carried out at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

As a substitute, the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) Budi Gunawan attended the event. He had conveyed President Prabowo Subianto's order in his speech, namely asking for the eradication of corruption not to hesitate.

"Please allow me to represent the President, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, to give a speech at the 2024 World Anti-Corruption Day event," said Budi at the time.

"On various occasions, President Prabowo Subianto also ordered all law enforcers not to hesitate and to be firm in eradicating corruption, online gambling, drugs, and smuggling," he continued.

Previously reported, the KPK chose Yogyakarta as the center of Hakordia 2025 activity with the theme 'Satukan Aksi, Basmi Korupsi'. This activity was held on December 6-9.

Yogyakarta was chosen by the KPK because of various cities of education and cities of culture. This condition is in line with efforts to eradicate corruption, especially through the course of prevention and education.

In addition, Jogja is one of the local governments that has good governance.

"In the Jogja area, the KPK previously also piloted anti-corruption village programs, which are currently growing and are already in every province throughout Indonesia. Including its development, namely cities/anti-corruption districts," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo some time ago.

Furthermore, Budi said, the Governor of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X responded positively. He provides full support by facilitating several places to commemorate Hakordia 2025 later.

"Hopefully this activity will involve more people, students, students, including culturalists and art workers, as well as MSMEs," concluded Budi.
