Check Ridwan Kamil, KPK Suspects There Are Assets From Bank BJB Non-Budgeter Funds

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) explored a number of things when examining former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil as a witness to alleged corruption in the procurement of advertisements at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR). One of them is looking for assets suspected of being related to non-budget funds.

This non-budgeter fund is the difference in paying for the procurement of advertisements for Bank BJB returned by the tender winning company. The management is called the KPK carried out by the corporate secretary (corsec) section.

"Investigators are exploring the knowledge of Brother RK related to the non-budgeting budgets, including investigators confirming whether RK's assets are also related to the non-budget budget," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday night, December 2.

Budi said that asset confirmation needs to be done because the KPK suspects that there are assets that have not been reported.

Based on the information collected, one of these assets is property in Bali.

"Investigators also confirmed about the assets that have been reported at the LHKPN and then whether there are other assets that have not been reported," he said.

It didn't stop there, investigators also had time to question Ridwan Kamil about his income when he served as Governor of West Java. "It is also juxtaposed with whether there are other incomes outside of official income as Governor of West Java. All of this is explored, traced and confirmed at the same time," said Budi.

"Why is it confirmed, because in this case investigators also conducted many examinations of other witnesses, including from search activities which then investigators not only secured and confiscated assets suspected of being related to this case but also investigators had confiscated a number of documents and electronic evidence," he continued.

The KPK is known to have confiscated a number of assets belonging to Ridwan Kamil while investigating allegations of corruption at Bank BJB. Apart from the Mercedes Benz 280 SL, investigators also brought a Royal Enfield motorbike from his house after conducting a search.

The motorbike is now in the KPK's Looted Goods Storage House (Rupakasan). Meanwhile, Mercedes Benz, which was purchased from family B. J. Habibie, was returned.

This collection was carried out after the KPK examined B. J Habibie's son, Ilham Habibie some time ago. The reason is, Ridwan Kamil has not paid off the car and the money that has been given has been returned to investigators.

As previously reported, the KPK has examined Ridwan Kamil as the Governor of West Java as a witness to alleged corruption in the procurement of advertisements at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR). He was questioned for about six hours or from 10.40 WIB to 16.30 WIB.

As for this case, five suspects have been named. They are former President Director of Bank BJB Yuddy Renaldi; Bank BJB Corporate Secretary Division Head Widi Hartoto; Agency Controller Antedja Muliatama and Cakrawala Kreasi Mandiri Kin Asikin Dulmanan; Agency Controller BSC Advertising and PT Wahana Semesta Bandung Express (WSBE) Suhendrik; and Controlling PT Cipta Karya Sukses Bersama (CKSB) and PT Cipta Karya Mandiri Bersama (CKMB) Raden Sophan Jaya Kusuma.

This case investigation warrant (sprindik) was issued on February 27, 2025. The actions of the five suspects are suspected of having caused the state to lose up to Rp22 billion.

Currently, the detention has not been carried out on five suspects. However, they have been prevented from traveling abroad for six months and can be extended according to the needs of the investigation.
