Prabowo Already Knows The Sumatra Flood Trigger

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has received comprehensive reports regarding the causes of the massive floods that hit a number of areas in Sumatra in recent weeks.

This was conveyed by the Chairman of the MPR Muzanise after meeting President Prabowo Subianto at the Palace, when responding to questions about the alleged involvement of illegal logging practices in the disaster.

"Yes, I have, I have received comprehensive input," said Muzani, when asked whether the President already knew the main cause of the Sumatra disaster, including the alleged illegal logging.

Reported by ANTARA, Muzani explained, from the various photos and footage of the field that he observed, it was clear that the pile of wood that was allegedly not from the trees collapsed due to the storm, but old wood.

The findings, according to Muzani, indicate that illegal logging may be one of the factors that exacerbated the impact of disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

"If that's true, it means that there are illegal logging that is out of control. This must be a serious concern for environmental policy makers. Don't let our negligence today be a disaster for the children and grandchildren later," he said.

When asked whether the President also received a similar report, Muzani stated that the Head of State had received complete input regarding the root causes of the flood problem.

However, he did not specify the contents of the report or the potential legal steps that the government might take.

Muzani then avoided further questions regarding the possibility of strict government action, including legal sanctions or ministerial reshuffle, and chose to rush to his official car to leave the Presidential Palace, Jakarta.
