Prabowo: Sandar Ship In Sibolga, Hercules Every Day Transports Aid

TAPANULI TENGAH - Presiden Prabowo Subianto menyatakan kapal berukuran besar saat ini berhasil sandar di pesisir Sibolga, Sumatera Utara, untuk menyalurkan bantuan kepada para pengungan mengingat jalur darat menuju daerah tersebut terputus akibat banjir bandang dan longsor.

After reviewing refugees in Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra, today, President Prabowo also ensured that the Hercules Air Force transport aircraft carried back and forth every day carrying aid and a number of logistics needed by refugees from aid storage points to disaster-affected areas in North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh.

"I think the big ship can dock in Sibolga. Then, we continue to deploy Hercules, maybe every day several points can be landed," President Prabowo told reporters at the Pandan Sports Hall refugee post, Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra, Antara, Monday, December 1.

Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lieutenant General TNI Suharyanto on a separate occasion said that two areas in North Sumatra, namely Sibolga City and Central Tapanuli, were of serious concern to the government because the land route to the two locations were still cut off.

As a result, the two areas were isolated and could only be accessed by air and sea for several days since flash floods and landslides hit the two areas on Tuesday (25/11) last week.

Apart from that, President Prabowo emphasized that the government is taking all efforts to open access so that areas in Sibolga City and Central Tapanuli Regency are no longer isolated.

"There are several isolated villages, God willing, we can penetrate them," said President Prabowo.

At least 28 helicopters from the TNI, Polri, and Basarnas were deployed to transport aid and distribute them to a number of disaster-affected areas in North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh.

Then, there were also Indonesian Air Force transport planes, such as Hercules C130 and A400M. Meanwhile, the Indonesian Navy also deployed six warships (KRI) to assist in the evacuation and delivery of aid.

"The KRI was deployed, namely the KRI dr. Soeharso-990, KRI Semarang-594 to support the delivery of logistics, troop shifts, as well as evacuation of victims, KRI Teluk Banten-516, KRI Teluk Gilimanuk-531, and KRI Teluk Celuk Bawang-532 which are ready to bring assistance in the form of contact materials, field tents, medical equipment, and rubber boats. In addition, KRI Brawijaya-320 was also deployed in handling this natural disaster," said the Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service First Admiral TNI Tunggul to reporters in Jakarta, Friday (28/11).

The ships sailed from Jakarta and Surabaya to Nias and Belawan from November 29 to December 1, 2025.

On a separate occasion at Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport/Silangit Airport, North Tapanuli, North Sumatra, Monday, President Prabowo continued to convey that the weather in the Sumatra region is also predicted to improve so that aid is expected to be faster and smoothly distributed to refugees.

"Yes, we are grateful that the weather has improved, the prediction is also the worst," continued President Prabowo.
