18 Children Caught By Police Open BO In Hotel Area West Jakarta, The Rate Is Rp300-500 Thousand

JAKARTA - The Subdivision of Children and Women (Renakta) directorate of public criminal reserse (Ditreskrimum) of Metro Jaya Police secured as many as 75 people when raiding online prostitution practices in two hotels in West Jakarta.

"The total number secured from these two hotels is 75 people," said Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police Kombes Yusri Yunus in Mapolda Metro Jaya reported from Antara, Monday, May 24.

Dozens of people are known to act as customers, pimps, commercial sex workers, to hotel employees.

During the examination and data collection, police found as many as 18 commercial sex workers who were children.

"There were 18 minors who were victimized," he added.

The officer's search results also found that muncikari opened an online prostitution practice or open booking (Open BO) --a term used in prostitution -- through the MiChat app.

"The perpetrator offers the victim to men through the MiChat application as a psk at a rate of Rp300 thousand to Rp500 thousand," said Yusri.

In this case investigators identified two muncikari as suspects. Both, initially AD (27) and AP (24).

Both are entangled with Article 88 Juncto 76 I of Law No.17 of 2016 on Child Protection, Article 27 Paragraph 1 Juncto article 45 of Law No. 19 of 2016 on ITE, Article 296 and Article 506 of the Criminal Code with a maximum criminal threat of 10 years in prison.
