JAKARTA - Bandung Police Chief Kombes Pol Budi Sartono said a stepmother named Sari Mulyani abused the child, continued Raditya Allibyan (4), because of jealousy her husband was considered to love the victim more than the perpetrator's biological child.

Budi explained that both the perpetrator and her husband both had children from their previous and jealous marriages, then triggered the perpetrator to vent anger on the victim.

"The perpetrator felt that her husband did not love the perpetrator's children. The anger was vented to the victim," Budi said in Bandung, Friday, as reported by Antara.

The persecution took place on Friday, November 21 at noon, while the perpetrator was bathing the victim. The perpetrator is known to have pushed the victim's chest and head until it hit the wall.

Budi revealed that violence against victims had previously occurred, but the incident that day made the victim critical.

"What resulted in his death was action on Friday, while bathing and changing clothes at around 13.30 WIB," he said.

The victim was then unconscious and taken to the Ujungberung Hospital. However, in the early hours of Saturday, November 22, the victim was declared dead with a number of wounds on his body.

After examining and titled the case, Sari Mulyani was named a suspect. The police confirmed that the injuries to the victim's body were the result of acts of violence.

"The criminal element has been fulfilled. The person concerned has admitted, and the autopsy results show violence," said Budi.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 80 paragraph (3) jo. Article 76C of the Child Protection Law carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
