2.056 Tourists Apply for Refund After Bromo Closed Completely

MALANG - The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) said that as many as 2,056 tourists have applied for refunds or refunds for the purchase of tickets to visit Mount Bromo. The closure of the total impact of the widespread forest and land fires (karhutla) that hit the area in recent days.

The Public Relations Officer of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Headquarters, Endrip Wahyutama, said that thousands of tourists who applied for the refund of the cost of purchasing tickets, consisted of 1,944 Indonesian tourists and 112 others were foreign tourists, starting from Sunday (9/8) to Wednesday (12/8).

"The number of tourists who have made refunds for Indonesian citizens or WNI is 1,944 people and 112 foreign nationals," said Endrip as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 12.

In addition to refunds, as many as 32 Indonesian tourists were recorded to apply for rescheduling or rescheduling visits to Mount Bromo. Meanwhile, foreign tourists did not carry out this process.

Overall, the number of tourists who will visit the Bromo Mountain area in the period of 9-15 August reached 3,062 people, with details of 2,671 Indonesian tourists and 391 foreign tourists.

Endrip said that for tourists who have not applied for a refund of the visit ticket fee, there are 974 people.

"If the domestic tourists who have not applied for a refund are 695 people, while foreign tourists are 279 people," he said.

The TNBTS Headquarters imposed a total closure of all entrances to the Bromo Mountain area, namely Cemorolawang in Probolinggo Regency, Wonokitri in Pasuruan Regency, Jemplang and Coban Trisula in Malang Regency, and Senduro in Lumajang Regency on Saturday (8/8), at 22.00 WIB,

Because, at that time, the fire that hit the Bromo Mountain area spread across the Tengger Caldera Ring Road (JLKT) from the direction of Bukit Jantur and burned the savannah area.
