Cashier And Lover Gasak Money Minimarket Terminal 1A Soetta, Used For Online Gambling

TANGERANG Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police (Soetta), Polda Metro Jaya, arrested two lovebirds with the initials TW (21) and BTP (23) after being caught stealing and embezzling money from minimarket cashiers at Terminal 1A departing Soetta Airport.

"Both of them have been named suspects," said Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police Chief Kombes Ronald Sipayung in Tangerang, Thursday, November 27.

This case was revealed after the police report Number: LP/B/113/X/2025/SPKT/Soetta Airport Police/Polda Metro Jaya, dated October 15, 2025 by Putra Pamungkas, Assistant Manager of the minimarket Retail Comer.

"The report contains a difference in transaction proceeds when cash opname was carried out. It was found that there was a shortage of money from the safe drop of Rp. 3 million," said Ronald.

The Criminal Investigation Team then traced the CCTV footage and found a similar incident on October 4, 2025 with a loss of IDR 3,600,000 The company's total loss reached IDR 6,600,000

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police, Kompol Yandri Mono, said that based on CCTV evidence, there were indications that the theft was carried out by TW, who was the minimarket cashier.

TW does not act alone. He involved his girlfriend, BTP, who also enjoyed the proceeds of crime.

"Both of them have their respective roles in this theft and embezzlement case," said Yandri.

From the results of the examination, TW admitted that he took the company's money three times with a total of Rp. 6 million, then handed it over to BTP. The action was carried out on orders with the promise that the money would be replaced.

“Kami menyita barang bukti dari TW berupa seragam minimarket, ID card karyawan, pas bandara, serta rekaman CCTV yang memperlihatkan aktivitas mencurigakan,” katanya.

"We confiscated evidence from TW in the form of minimarket uniforms, employee ID cards, airport passes, and CCTV footage showing suspicious activity," he said.

BTP admits receiving proceeds from crime and using them for online gambling, traveling, and other personal needs.

For their actions, the two suspects were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with a weighted penalty of seven years in prison.
