JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno provided briefing to awardee recipients of Scholarships for Education Fund Management Institutions (LPDP) for master and doctoral levels.

Rano said as many as 19 DKI civil servants had studied through LPDP in the last five years, both domestically and in Australia, England, and Sweden.

He also asked scholarship recipients to maintain integrity, nationalism, and moral responsibility to return and serve after completing the study.

"The theme of briefing the Red and White Reflection: I'm Going Back, not just motivation. This is an inner conversation between a person and his homeland. A call for you to go as far as possible, then bring light back to the nation," he said.

Rano assessed that the awards are a generation that prepares the future with knowledge and courage. He reminded that studies abroad will bring challenges, ranging from cultural differences to high academic standards.

"Indonesia was not born out of empty space, but from the courage of young people who were willing to go far to study, fall, rise, and continue to look for the best form for their nation. Likewise, LPDP scholarship recipients, who had to leave with humility and return with a sense of responsibility," explained Rano.

He also mentioned the goals of LPDP which instill integrity, nationalism, and commitment to service after the study is completed.

"This is not just an administrative goal, but a historical call. An academic degree will be meaningful when it returns to light for the community," he said.
