JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Agam Regency, West Sumatra, said one resident in Paninggiran Bawah, Nagari or Nan Limo Village, Palupuh District, died due to being buried by landslide material.
"The victim on behalf of Daud (35) was buried by landslides with his house," said Head of BPBD Agam Rahmat Lasmono in Lubuk Basung, Tuesday, November 25, as reported by ANTARA.
He said the victim's body was found by a joint team from BPBD Agam, Palupuh Police, Koramil 12 Palupuh, nagari government, sub-district government and local residents, Tuesday (25/11) afternoon.
The victim's body was immediately evacuated to a family home not far from his house.
"The victim was buried by landslide material while inside the house. Getting the report, a search was immediately carried out," he said.
Agam was hit by landslides, fallen trees, floods and others after heavy rains hit the area on November 22-25, 2025.
There are at least 10 of the 16 sub-districts affected by the natural disaster from November 22-25, 2025.
The 10 sub-districts are Lubuk Basung, Palembayan, Ampek Nagari, Matur, Tanjung Raya, Tanjung Mutiara, Malalak, Ampek Koto, Banuhampu and Palupuh sub-districts.
Currently, BPBD Agam, Basarnas and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Agam are still evacuating victims affected by the floods in Palembayan, Ampek Nagari and Tanjung Mutiara sub-districts.
"The victim was evacuated to a location safer from flooding and material losses due to this disaster are still being recorded," he said.
