Nurdin Abdullah's Wife Liestiaty Fachruddin Examined KPK

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is examining the wife of defunct South Sulawesi Governor Nurdin Abdullah, Liestiaty Fachruddin.

She was examined as a witness in the bribery and gratification case that ensnared her husband. The examination was conducted in Mapolda, South Sulawesi.

"Liestiaty Fachruddin was examined as a witness for the NA suspect," KPK Acting Spokesman Ali Fikri told reporters on Monday, May 24.

In addition to Liestiaty, KPK also examined three other people. They are Idawati who is a private party, Haeruddin who is also a self-employed party, and A. Makassau who is a private employee.

It is not yet known what the inquest into Liestiaty and three other witnesses is. However, the witness called allegedly knew about the corruption case that was being handled.

Kpk appointed Nurdin Abdullah as a suspect in the case of alleged bribery and gratification related to the procurement of goods and services, licensing and infrastructure development in the South Sulawesi Provincial Government in Fiscal Year 2020-2021.

This PDIP politician was assigned a suspect along with the Secretary of pupr office of South Sulawesi Province Edy Rahmat. Meanwhile, Director of PT Agung Perdana Bulukumba (APB) Agung Sucipto was designated as a suspected briber.

While serving as Governor of South Sulawesi, Nurdin allegedly received bribes and gratuities with a total value of Rp 5.4 billion related to projects in the South Sulawesi Provincial Government. Rp2 billion of money was given from Agung through Edy.

Bribes and gratuities were given so that Agung could return to work on the project in South Sulawesi for fiscal year 2021.

As a result of his actions Nurdin and Edy allegedly violated Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 and Article 12B of Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1
