JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia invites the people of the country to better understand the situation experienced by the Palestinian people through a photo exhibition entitled "Faces of Palestine".

Officially opened on Monday (12/11), the exhibition held in Sarinah, Jakarta is part of the "Palestinine Solidarity Week 2025" program to commemorate the "International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People" which falls on November 29 every year.

"Faces of Palestine" visually attracts public empathy, raises humanitarian awareness, and echoes Indonesia's support for the Palestinian people.

"The "Faces of Palestine" display about 30 drained photos recording the reality of humanity in Palestine, including portraits of children, women, and civil society; the situation as well as the impact of conflict; to a series of diplomatic efforts, public solidarity, humanitarian assistance, and Indonesian political support for Palestine," said Director General of Information and Public Diplomacy of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Heru H. Subolo when opening the exhibition, in a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Heru said the educational space through the photo exhibition was very positive for the Indonesian public to understand more closely the situation of the Palestinian people, strengthening national humanitarian solidarity.

Through strong visual curation and humanist narrative, the exhibition "Faces of Palestine" features 3 (three) main messages.

First, Recognizing Our Shared Humanity invites the public to see the lives of Palestinians struggling in the midst of a humanitarian crisis and feel their suffering as fellow human beings.

Next there is A Call for Empathy and Compassion which emphasizes solidarity and humanitarian efforts that have been made by various parties, including Indonesia's real contribution.

Finally, Hope That Lights the Way highlights the toughness and hopes of the Palestinian people despite the very difficult situation.

Meanwhile, the Head of the United Nations Representative in Indonesia, Gita Sabharwal, said that Indonesia's Diplomacy runs not only through international forums, but also through humanitarian movements and community participation. The 'Faces of Palestine' exhibition is a manifestation of Indonesia's active role.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Dr. Zuhair MM Al-Shun said, "Palestinian really appreciates the solidarity and support of the Indonesian people, and in facing current challenges, obtaining the right to life, feeling safe, and free from colonialism."

The plan is that the "Faces of Palestine" exhibition will last until Sunday, November 30, according to the Director of Information and Media of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hartyo Harkomoyo.

As a form of public participation, visitors are also invited to write messages of support at the Wall of Hopes, as a symbol of collective hope towards justice, independence, and a peaceful future for Palestine
