JAKARTA - It was reported that four people were killed and 17 others injured in the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine as a result of a massive Russian drone strike on Sunday night.

"Every night and every day brings new challenges to our city, new damage, and new jobs," said Mayor Ihor Terekhov in a post on Telegram reported by ABC News, Monday, November 24.

Kharkiv is one of Russia's newest targets of attack at night, which the Ukrainian air force said involved 162 unmanned aircraft launched into the country. Air defenses shot down or tamed 125 unmanned aircraft, the air force said, with 37 planes hitting 15 locations.

"The most severe damage was experienced by civilian infrastructure and private homes in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Dnipropximsk areas," the air force said. "Unfortunately, there were civilian casualties," he continued.

Meanwhile, Russia's Defense Ministry said its troops shot down 103 Ukrainian drones throughout the night until Monday afternoon.

Four drones were shot down in Moscow, two of which were heading for the capital.

The latest response to attacks comes as US, European, and Ukrainian officials meet in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss a proposal for a controversial American peace plan, which contained 28 points, submitted to Kyiv last week, on conditions that critics say will consider Ukraine's capitulation.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the negotiations "may be the most productive and meaningful meeting we've ever had so far in the whole process since we were involved."

Rubio told reporters the presidents of the two countries should agree to any framework, but he said he "sured" they would agree.

"We are making some changes and adjustments in hopes of further narrowing the differences and getting closer to the results that Ukraine and the United States can accept," Rubio said.
