Government Projects 147 Permanent Buildings For People's Schools In 2026

Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf ensured that the construction of permanent buildings for Rsakayat schools nationally will begin in 2026. Of the plan for 166 construction sites, 147 are ready to be carried out in the early stages, and this number has the potential to increase to 200.

East Java is listed as the area with the most development, namely 26 locations spread across schools belonging to district/city and provincial governments.

Gus Ipul, the Minister of Social's nickname, explained that the entire initial development process is now entering the finalization stage. The local government has completed land affairs and currently the project is starting to enter the auction process at the Ministry of Public Works.

"The process in the regent and governor of the land has been completed. This means that the auction process has started at the Ministry of Public Works, and hopefully development will run smoothly," said Gus Ipul after a dialogue with public school students and parents, Thursday, November 20.

He also mentioned that the progress of development in each region is different. There are areas that are expected to complete development in the middle of the year, while others until the end of the year. Of the 147 initial development sites, East Java became the province with the highest number of projects. East Java is the most area,' added the Social Minister.

The dominance of East Java cannot be separated from the increasing need for alternative educational facilities and land readiness from local governments.

In evaluating the people's school program over the past year, the Minister of Social Affairs assessed that the implementation was going well and stable. Although initially there were a number of challenges, especially related to the dynamics of implementation and adaptation, conditions are now getting more under control.

"Alhamdulillah, so far the people's school program has been going well, we monitor it every week. Indeed, at first there were dynamic challenges, but after two or three months the condition was quite good," he concluded.

The construction of this permanent building is expected to strengthen the sustainability of the people's school program as well as expand access to education for people in various regions.
