JAKARTA - Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi confirmed the resumption of monitoring at Iran's nuclear facilities that were not damaged by the Israeli-United States attacks in June.

"Our inspectors have returned to Iran and have carried out inspections at facilities unaffected by June's (Israel and America) attacks, but further involvement is needed to restore full inspections," Grossi said in a post on X after a meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors on Wednesday, reported by IRNA November 20.

Earlier, in a speech at a board meeting, Grossi said he regularly communicated with Tehran and urged Iran to facilitate IAEA's access to faulty locations with low enrichment uranium and high enrichment to assess its status.

"We have returned to Iran, and so far more than a dozen inspections have been carried out. However, much work remains to be done in accordance with relevant provisions in the Comprehensive Security Agreement," Grossi said, adding greater engagement was needed under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Iran suspended cooperation with the IAEA in June due to security concerns, following US and Israeli aggression, in which several of its nuclear sites were bombed that violated international law, NPT and the UN Charter.

In response to this, the Iranian Parliament passed a law banning further access to its nuclear facilities for IAEA inspectors. Tehran also accused the agency of effectively providing protection against the attack by declaring Iran violated its non-proliferation obligations and then failed to condemn the attack.

On September 8, the Head of the IAEA signed an agreement in Cairo with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, which established a framework for understanding of the Agency's inspection procedures.

However, Iran declared the agreement null and void after European parties in the now-terminated nuclear agreement implemented a so-called snapshotback mechanism, restoring UN sanctions against the country.

Later, Tehran later stated they had allowed IAEA inspectors to visit several nuclear sites since June's aggression.

"As long as we are members of the NPT, we will comply with our commitments, and last week, IAEA inspectors visited several nuclear facilities, including Tehran Research Reactors," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei earlier this month.
