Bandung City Police confirmed that Rizki Nurfadilah, a teenager from Bandung Regency who is suspected of being a victim of a criminal act of trafficking in persons (TPPO) in Cambodia, is now at the Embassy office of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) at Phnom Penh.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bandung Police, Kompol Luthfi Olot, said that his party received the latest information from the Indonesian Embassy that Rizki had been secured and was undergoing examination by the Indonesian representative authorities in Cambodia.

"Rizki is already at the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Pehn, which is still being investigated," said Olot in Bandung, Wednesday, November 19.

Luthfi said the Bandung Police had examined four witnesses, namely the victim's father, the victim's grandmother, and two close colleagues.

"Currently, the Bandung Police are handling allegations of trafficking in persons against Rizki's brother. We have examined four witnesses who confirmed that Rizki was in Cambodia to work," he said.

In addition, the Bandung Police have also coordinated with BP3MI West Java, Ditreskrimum and Ditreskrimsus West Java Police to establish communication with the Indonesian Embassy to accelerate the handling of cases.

"Then we from the Satreskrim continue to carry out investigations to explore the legal facts that occurred when the victim went to Cambodia," he said.

Regarding the repatriation process, he ensured that intensive coordination would continue to be carried out with BP3MI West Java and the West Java Regional Police to ensure that Rizki could be sent back to Indonesia immediately.

"We are coordinating with BP3MI West Java, Ditreskrimum and Ditressiber for Rizki's repatriation process to Indonesia," he said.

The family revealed that Rizki was previously lured into participating in the selection of the PSMS Medan football team by someone he knew through Facebook social media.

However, instead of being brought to Medan, he was actually taken to Cambodia and forced to work as an online fraud operator targeting Chinese citizens.
