Two Fraudsters In Police Mode Arrested By Kaltara Police In Jakarta

The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the North Kalimantan Police (Kaltara) arrested two fraudsters by offering assistance for graduation from members of the National Police.

The Director of Criminal Investigation at the Kaltara Police, Kombes Pol Yudhistira Midyahwan, revealed that the two suspects with the initialsUR and HA were arrested in Jakarta by the Sub-Directorate I team of the North Kalimantan Police Ditreskrimum on Saturday (15/11/2025).

"The two suspects are part of a syndicate that offers illegal services to pass victims in the recruitment process of the National Police and other institutions," said Kombes Yudhistira, Tuesday (18/11/2025).

"The method is that the suspect claims to have an acquaintance with a regional police official and falsified a graduation announcement letter," he continued.

Yudhistira said that in Kaltara there were already victims who handed over a sum of money to the suspects, but they were never accepted as members of the National Police.

"The perpetrators also made fake graduation letters to convince the victim. The arrests were made after investigations and searches since the first report was received," he said.

The police then hunted down the two perpetrators to Gorontalo and Lampung before finally arresting them in Jakarta.

"As a result of the actions of the two suspects, the victim suffered material and psychological losses," he explained.

Yudhistira said this case also had an impact on the image and level of public trust in the Police recruitment process. His party emphasized that it would not tolerate fraudulent acts that took police institutions. The public is also advised to always verify information related to the acceptance of Polri members through official channels.

"Currently, the two suspects have been taken to the North Kalimantan Regional Police to undergo further investigation. The police are still investigating the network and work patterns of the syndicate to prevent a repeat of similar cases," he concluded.
