DPR Leaders Meet BGN And Discuss MBG Acceleration

JAKARTA - The leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives represented by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, held a meeting with the Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sony Sanjaya and the General Chair of the Indonesian Gisi Expert Association (Persagi), Doddy Izwardy at Nusantara III Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta today.

Cucun explained that this meeting was a follow-up to the Hearing Meeting (RDP) at Commission IX of the DPR on November 12, to accelerate operational implementation in the Free Nutrition Food Kitchen (MBG).

"In the area of one district, the advantage is that there are accountants, in other districts there are deficiencies. There are in one district the needs of nutritionists, in other districts the shortage or in other provinces. So even for yesterday's staff, the conclusion was that at the RDP meeting that the DPR and BGN agreed together to find solutions to the scarcity of energy. Not only nutritionists, yesterday were called nutritionists, accounting workers, cooks, yes. Because we continue to make improvements, the functions carried out by us in the DPR have been running well," said Cucun at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, November 17th.

Cucun revealed that the DPR found that there was an MBG kitchen that had not yet been running during a specific visit some time ago, so that the children had not yet received the benefits of President Prabowo Subianto's flagship program.

"Actually, today, I said that, BGN and Persagi already want to get married, there is already a cooperation agreement, signed regarding the follow-up results of the meeting at Commission IX. Lack of nutritionists, they have a resources of 53,000, but later we will see the mapping. Whether 53,000 people with Persagi KTA have worked where, or still don't have a job, or fresh graduates who want to leave. Actually, our kitchen has now been running 15,000 until the end of 20,000, Mr. Waka. It can be covered up when it is mapped out where the excess is and where is lacking. So today we agree, I even said that I was the administrator for this marriage ceremony to be accelerated, so that there would be no problems," said Cucun.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of BGN Sony Sanjaya explained that the SPPG consists of several components. One component from the center or government is the head of the SPPG, nutritionist, and accountant. The phenomenon in the field, he said, of the 53 thousand members of Persagi, as many as 16 thousand are active members.

"So if this phenomenon occurs in the field, it is difficult for nutritionists to find because it is already close. The operational SPPG number has now touched the figure of 14 thousand SPPGs. There are 16 thousand active nutritionists, indeed there are 2 thousand, but where are these 2 thousand? It's difficult, that's what is looking for a bit of difficulty. So then there is a recommendation from yesterday's RDP results, BGN must find a solution," said Sony.

"Alhamdulillah, this afternoon a meeting was held with Persagi. So we convey that the need is at least until the end of this year, are you ready, Persagi fulfills it? If the SPPG will reach only 22 thousand later, are you ready? How is the shortage of 6 thousand? If it turns out that there is still no solution, what solution should be taken or what steps should be taken by BGN so that it remains, although not entirely perfect, based on the advice or solution from Persagi, what is done by BGN is still in a framework that meets, not too deviant," he continued.

Second, BGN urges nutritionists who have not joined Persagi to immediately register so that BGN can communicate more easily when something happens related to ethics and others.

"We just need to return it to the professional function coach that this happened, we submit it. I urge you because this is related to the professional code of ethics, so when a nutritionist has worked in one place at the SPPG, no more because there are other offers, wants to move. Stay in that place because this is related to the system or payroll mechanism," he said.

Sony said that all nutritionists working on the MBG program are projected to become first aid employees, even BGN wants to immediately involve them in a computer assessment test.

"Secondly, all partners who will join as BGN partners in addition to preparing the SPPG building, they are also asked to provide accommodation facilities," he said.

"So this is really a nutritionist profession in the MBG program, we really pay attention so that the purpose is that the quality of the food distributed is really prepared by nutritionists who are comfortable working and indeed in accordance with their knowledge," he added.

On the same occasion, Ketum Persagi Doddy Izwardy said, Persagi always communicates with BGN regarding the placement of nutritionists. He said, last October there was an agreement for cooperation or MoU to formulate technical steps in fulfilling nutritionists.

"This is important what we are doing, ladies and gentlemen, because we are maintaining our knowledge. For what reason, because the great purpose of this program is the fulfillment of nutrition in a very large target, so there will be a change in nutritional status in Indonesia," he said.

"Well, this is what we maintain so that the standards for nutrition, fulfillment of nutrition, all kinds prepared at the SPPG will reach the target recipients because one of Indonesia is facing nutritional problems that are still quite high," he continued.
